  1. Hard to tell because of the distortion, but I think the "weep" call is a Great Crested Flycatcher. Maybe a House Wren or oriole for the other? Location would be helpful.
  2. Dark-eyed Junco. Remember to included a general location and date.
  3. Yeah, the more I look at it the more confident I am that it is a Common Grackle. Just a bit rusty with grackle ID right now. 🙂
  4. Seems to me to have a big head, big bill, and relatively short tail.
  5. Narrow light brown streaks and obviously graduated tail feathers = Cooper's.

  7. Thanks for doing this! Besides taking forever to find the hotspots, the app crashes every time I end a checklist and never records the end time. I'm still using a notepad and pencil....
  8. Its head is solid dark brown, it has very pale eyes, and no yellow cere.
  9. Well, the tail pattern on this one is probably in range for both Red-shouldered and Red-tailed, as the pale and dark bands are about the same width. But the head makes this a Red-tailed.

  11. Red-tailed with the dark head, green cere, and thin dark tail bands.

  13. I just had a dream that I was sitting on the side of the road in front of my neighbor's house (🤨) getting ready to draw and a Golden Eagle, Sharpie, and two Red-shouldered Hawks flew over pretty much at the same time. Then my dad, neighbors, and a few strangers joined me. They talked about how the raptors were so plentiful that day then started using my art supplies. 🤣 Dreams are weird....
  14. Whoops, I take that back. I thought Avery said Red-tailed. Why isn't it a Red-tailed with the very pale eyes and thin dark tail bands?
