  1. Yeah, that's good. Although Sharpies have the same color cap and nape, but I get why you wrote head instead.
  2. Cooper's with the dark cap that contrasts with the light nape, long head projection, and shorter outer tail feathers.
  3. I think it's a Western Wood-Pewee (large beak, long wings, no eyering).
  4. There is a dot (or star if you've posted in that thread) at the left of the topic title that brings you to the first unread post in that thread.
  5. I don't think it sounds like a Ruby-crowned Kinglet - they make more of a "ch-cha ch-cha" sound. They shouldn't be in Texas right now anyway (assuming this was heard recently).
  6. This appears to be a juvenile Savannah Sparrow. Field Sparrows have very plain gray faces, lighter orange caps, longer tails, and no streaking on the flanks.
  7. Cool! Thanks! I was pretty certain, but I wanted to rule out a mimic somehow.
  8. @Administrator I noticed that after a rather short period of time we are not able to edit our posts. It would be great if that could be changed, maybe remove the edit option after a few hours or days rather than minutes or make it so we can always edit our posts like before.
  9. Is this an Eastern Meadowlark? I heard this bird in May in Vermont in an area with tree-lined hay fields. The bird sings at 0, 7, 11, and 17 seconds. Sorry it's so quiet, the bird was far away. https://photos.app.goo.gl/NSMja9ayUuEqRsDX7
  10. Juvenile Brown-headed Cowbird. It was probably being raised by the Chipping Sparrows.
  11. Hi @lonestranger! Good to see you here. I'm sorry to hear about what's going on with your landlord. Just so you know, the first page of your thread was saved by the Wayback Machine (https://web.archive.org/web/20161031174028/www.whatbird.com/forum/index.php?/topic/142912-our-new-backyard/). I hope what you need is there.
  12. No, I think all of the subforums I mentioned plus the ID help and photo sharing subforums should be under the BIRDING category (like they used to be). Sorry for the confusion.
