  1. Yes, the expected species is a Rose-throated becard Thank you for your help!
  2. I am sorry, but I disagree with you. First of all, geographically, the definition of North America is always a problem. Some people consider that it only includes Canada, USA and Mexico and others extend the definition to include all the countries through to Panama, just as you suggested. Second, a lot of the birds that are discussed in this forum winter in Mexico and spend the summer in the US or Canada, so not all of the queries from birds seen in Mexico will be out of the area of expertise of most of the American and Canadian birders. Third, when the forum was being rebuilt a couple of months ago, I specifically mentioned this possible confusion with the North American forum, and since no one raised any objections, I understood it was fine to post requests of help to ID birds seen in Mexico in this forum. https://forums.whatbird.com/index.php?/topic/56-birding-category-topics/
  3. Thank you! I am undecided between the two of them!! Hopefully I will come across another mark to tell them apart!
  4. Here are a couple more birds from the Yucatan. I think the first one is a Rose-throated Becard but I am not sure about the other ones. Pictures were taken a few days ago in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Thank you for your help!
  5. Hi! I would greatly appreciate your help with this little guy. It was seen a couple of days ago in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Thank you!
  6. Hi! I think this could be a Cave Swallow, but I would greatly appreciate your help to confirm it. Pictures were taken yesterday in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. Thanks!
  7. I need your help telling apart these black birds... and to confirm a Boat-billed Flycatcher. They were seen in July in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Thanks a lot for your help! Bird 1 -- Melodious Blackbird?: Bird 2 -- Melodious Blackbird?: Bird 3: Bird 4: Bird 5 (Boat-billed Flycatcher): It doesn't show on the picture, but the bill is quite large and the calls were nothing like the ones of a Social Flycatcher or a Great Kiskadee -- I can try to post them if it helps with the ID.
  8. I think this post does a good job of explaining the difference: https://help.ebird.org/customer/portal/articles/1010509-what-is-the-difference-between-a-juvenile-and-an-immature- Basically, any bird that is not an adult is an immature. Juvenile is a more specific term that refers to the juvenile plumage, which can last for different lengths of time. By the way, these are great pictures!
  9. Thank you both so much! I didn't notice I had two different birds in the first set of pictures... Yes, the swallow is sort of confusing because of the color of the feathers... I think this is a juvenile, so maybe that explains it?
