  1. @blackburnian If you're on iNaturalist, would love to have you confirm/assist with IDs for our window bird strike study at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park Kansas. We can use all the help we can get. https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/jccc-bird-collision-study Thanks again.
  2. Thanks @blackburnian Gold star, female. Can't thank you enough.
  3. Not sure that's a fit - the colors maybe a little off as it's a picture of a picture. The neck area is a light buff. Any other thoughts? I'll keep looking at Dickcissel. Update: Well, a female Dickcissel maybe the right fit. Thank you.

  7. In conducting our bird strike study at Johnson County Community College, we found this bird. We believe it might have been struck by a car versus a window strike. We are having trouble identifying it so any help would be appreciate. Apologies for the quality of the photos. We've had a suggestion it was a first year Sora. 9. Charlie - I work for Johnson County Community College (JCCC) in Overland Park, Kansas. Since January 1, 2018 we have been collecting and logging window strikes on our campus. This form was created by the project manager and we log all the results in iNaturalist.org https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/jccc-bird-collision-study We'll use the data to mitigate the strike areas. The deceased birds are then put in bags, frozen and turned over to Kansas University.
  10. Thank you so much - agree with Northern Waterthrush.
  11. Thanks for the assist. Overland Park, Kansas 09-21-18. Believe this to be a thrush of some sort?
