    Photos taken 2 days ago. It's awfully late for any gulls larger than ring-billed except herring at this point, but this seemed small & small billed for herring. Lesser-black backed, female herring, or something else? Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the input. Seems like it goes one of two ways whenever i think I might have a thayer's. Either I get a good photo & it turns out to be a herring gull, or I get lousy photos & nobody can say for sure. Oh well. Maybe next winter.
