  1. Having done a little internet research, there have been studies on posturing and courtship rituals of Painted buntings. The display I captured with this photo resembles described behavior. I posted to see if anyone else might concur with what this appears to be or have witnessed the same behavior.
  2. Photo taken June 11, 2019 at Skidaway Island State Park, Chatham County, Georgia. Assuming this to be a solicitation posturing display of a female Painted bunting.
  3. Photos taken this afternoon, 4/16/19, Skidaway Island, Chatham County, GA. We do see Brown-headed cowbirds around in the spring. I saw this Eastern Towhee feeding this fledgeling and I suspect that it's a cowbird fledgeling. Would like thoughts and comments. Thanks in advance.

  8. appears not to have the squared tail of a Cowbird.

  20. Photos taken this afternoon ( Oct. 2, 2018 ) at the birdbath, Skidaway Island, Chatham County, Georgia. Need help with ID. Photos taken from my blind, so I was too close to get a complete shot of this hawk in one frame. Stayed at the bath, drank, and navigated well through the brambles and tree as it left. Cooper's ? Estimate 13-15 inches.
