  1. Is this a juvenile red bellied woodpecker? It looks babyish and I’ve never seen one before with so much red on its belly. Or maybe it’s breeding plumage? Picture taken 4/10/22 at Banner Marsh Wildlife Refuge near Havana, IL.
  2. Thank you everyone for your birding wisdom! I very much appreciate the identification tips you have offered!😃
  3. I need some help identifying 4 birds. These birds, except for the crow, were seen today, January 22, 2022 at the south end of Marco Island, Florida. The one with the orange legs I think is a ruddy turnstone. I'm not sure about the gulls. As far as the crow, it was seen on January 17, 2022 along route 41 east of Marco Island. I'm wondering if it is a raven, maybe? Any help is appreciated.
  4. I need help identifying/confirming what I think about several birds. All these birds were photographed in the Marco Island/ Naples area of SW Florida in January 2021. I’m thinking Prairie Warbler, Reddish Egret, Great Crested Flycatcher, plover of some sort, fledgling red shouldered hawk. Any and all help is appreciated!
  5. Thank you! Do you think it is full grown? And does it stay in Illinois all year around?
  6. Please help to identify this small bird found in central Illinois that almost appears to be a fledgling, but I'm not sure. Doesn't seem like it should be a fledgling in October in Illinois. When it flies, it flies just above the ground and then stops and just sits in the grass. Is it migrating? Doesn't seem to fly well enough to be migrating. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
  7. I saw these two birds March 7, 2020 in north central Illinois. They pretty much stayed together and I think they must be male and female of the same species, but I'm not sure what they are. Could someone please help identify them for me?
  8. Took this picture in Marco Island, Florida in January 2018. I hope some of you identifying experts can help. Thanks.
  9. I saw several birds on our Route 66 vacation that I am unable to identify. Any help would be appreciated. The first two pics were taken in Clinton, Oklahoma on July 28, 2019. The last two pics were taken in Santa Rosa, New Mexico on July 29, 2019. Thanks!
  10. Thank you so much for the proper identification. Thanks also for the tips to help identify!
