  1. Now that Thayer’s Gull is a subspecies of Iceland Gull, rather than a separate species, it makes sense. Immature gulls are so tricky!
  2. Saw this individual in Half Moon Bay, California. I think this is an Iceland Gull, though I am stuck on the subspecies. The coloration suggests an immature Kumlien's, though the primaries and tertials are darker than that of Kumlien's. Thank you for your help.
  3. Hello, This Gull was spotted in Point Reyes National Seashore in California. I initially thought that it was a Western Gull, but I was caught off guard by the pale eyes of this individual. Could this possibly be a hybrid of sorts or perhaps a Herring Gull? Thanks in advance!
  4. Hello! This bird was seen in Mammoth Lakes, California on 9.15.18. It was seen at an elevation of around 8,000 feet. My wishful hope is a juvenile Northern Goshawk, but I wanted to get your opinion. Thank you!
