  1. Just saw this bird about 30 mins ago. White pigeon? Weird that it’s tagged if it’s a pigeon? Seen just east of Toronto.
  2. Taken this afternoon just east of Toronto. Given the colouring around the eyes and the dark legs, I'm guessing Great Egret and not Gr Blue Heron White Morph.
  3. Thanks. 🙂 It was really just a lucky picture. The background is all water, no sky. No tweaking of the picture. I don't have that level of expertise.
  4. This was taken today just east of Toronto. I believe that I have a Yellow Legs on the left, and a Dunlin on the right. I'm curious about the bird in the middle which I think is an immature Hudsonian Godwit. Would appreciate confirmation. Second picture is same bird.
  5. Looks like a common loon with non-breeding plumage.
  6. Taken mid-September just east of Toronto. Not sure if this is Purple or House Finch.
  7. Taken mid-September just east of Toronto. Suspect immature common gallinule.
  8. Taken at the end of June in Talinn and Aarhus.
  9. Taken in Helsinki and St Petersburg at the end of June. They look like common blackbirds, but would appreciate confirmation.
  10. Taken today just east of Toronto. Not sure what this is...Hudsonian Godwit or Dowitcher?
  11. Taken today just east of Toronto. Length of the bill makes me think Greater YL?
  12. Taken today just east of Toronto. Not sure what type of Thrush these are? Veery, Swainson's, Hermit?
  13. I'd never seen a Longspur before, and it looked somewhat sparrow-ish to me, hence the title of the post, but I appreciate the additional detail. Very informative.
  14. Taken today just east of Toronto. It was hanging out and foraging with some Dunlins on the shoreline. Can't seem to figure out what type this is.
  15. Taken last Sunday just east of Toronto. Think this is a white-rumped sandpiper, but not sure.
  16. Taken Sunday, 50 Kms east of Toronto. Dark legs and plumage seems to suggest semipalmated sandpiper...I think?
  17. Taken this past Sunday just east of Toronto. Believe these to be Dunlins with non-breeding plumage.
  18. Taken this past Sunday in Oshawa, 50 kms east of Toronto. Think these are all Least sandpipers.
  19. Taken two days ago in Oshawa, about 50 Kms east of Toronto. The other dunlins seemed to have the greyer non-breeding plumage. The lightly speckled underbelly makes me think this could be a juvenile, but not 100% sure.
  20. Taken yesterday in Oshawa, ON, 50 Kms east of Toronto. Think it's either a female or immature B&W warbler but not sure.
  21. Taken yesterday in Oshawa ON, 50 Kms east of Toronto. Not sure what kind of flycatcher this is.
  22. Taken yesterday in Oshawa ON, 50 Kms east of Toronto. The beak colour is throwing me off here, but with the broken eye ring and patches on the wing, I'm thinking female black-throated blue warbler. Not sure what else this could be.
  23. Taken yesterday in Oshawa ON, 50 Kms east of Toronto.
  24. Taken yesterday in Oshawa, ON, about 50 Kms east of Toronto. I think the beak is just a bit too big for Orange Crowned Warbler, but could be wrong. Haven't seen either before.
  25. Taken yesterday in Oshawa, ON about 50 Kms east of Toronto. Lack of wingbars seems to eliminate Goldfinch. Not sure what else it could be if not a ST.
