I'd never seen a Longspur before, and it looked somewhat sparrow-ish to me, hence the title of the post, but I appreciate the additional detail. Very informative.

Taken today just east of Toronto. It was hanging out and foraging with some Dunlins on the shoreline. Can't seem to figure out what type this is.

Taken Sunday, 50 Kms east of Toronto. Dark legs and plumage seems to suggest semipalmated sandpiper...I think?

Taken two days ago in Oshawa, about 50 Kms east of Toronto. The other dunlins seemed to have the greyer non-breeding plumage. The lightly speckled underbelly makes me think this could be a juvenile, but not 100% sure.

Taken yesterday in Oshawa, ON, 50 Kms east of Toronto. Think it's either a female or immature B&W warbler but not sure.

Taken yesterday in Oshawa ON, 50 Kms east of Toronto. The beak colour is throwing me off here, but with the broken eye ring and patches on the wing, I'm thinking female black-throated blue warbler. Not sure what else this could be.

Taken yesterday in Oshawa, ON, about 50 Kms east of Toronto. I think the beak is just a bit too big for Orange Crowned Warbler, but could be wrong. Haven't seen either before.

Taken yesterday in Oshawa, ON about 50 Kms east of Toronto. Lack of wingbars seems to eliminate Goldfinch. Not sure what else it could be if not a ST.

Taken yesterday about 100 Kms south of North Bay, Ontario. Pale green ring around the eye is making me think juvenile black-billed cuckoo.

Isn't Ontario too far north for the Summer Tanager?

Rose Breasted Grosbeak taken yesterday about 100 Kms south of North Bay, Ontario. The dark wing and the little red spot are throwing me off. Looks like there may be the tiniest spot of red on the breast but hardly any. Thoughts?

Thank you. The white spot on the wing seems to fit too. Was very overcast this morning and she was in dense forest and moving quickly. Had to crank up the ISO and this was the best shot I got.

Taken yesterday 50 Kms east of Toronto. Guessing that the first is Least, but not sure about the second.
