  1. I live in Idaho as well! This is for sure a Great Horned Owl. I hear them do this all the time, generally the females do it I think. Also their ear tufts can be hard to see sometimes, especially as it gets dark.
  2. Yay! We're back! As soon as General discussion is opened up we'll have to ask for a move.
  3. How about Red-winged Blackbird? I was listening to some today and noticed a similar sound.
  4. Really? I'm pretty sure it's like a scolding call they do. I can't think of anything else it could be anyway.
  5. It finally came to me! The duh-da is a Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
  6. I hear a duh-da duh-da duh-da duh-da towards the end of the video. Sounds like a Chickadee scolding (I think) but I don't know if that's what you're referring to.
  7. Ah gotcha. I haven't been out there so I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions as to where to go.
  8. Oh nice! It's about 4 hours from the Utah/Wyoming border to the South Hills. It's a long jaunt but it's worth it! You could stop at Antelope Island State Park as well. Are you camping along the way or staying at hotels?
  9. If you have the chance a trip to the South Hills would be worth it. How long are you traveling?
