  1. Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you all see some cool birds!
  2. I was fortunate enough to bird west a couple times this year. I'm at 492 with a few possible birds left like GLGU or SNOW
  3. Exploding kittens, Bang, Egyptian Rat Screw, Avalon, and Unstable Unicorns.
  4. Birding isn't my hobby, it's my lifestyle. Besides that I run, kayak, play card games and eat interesting food!
  5. I've never completed a Rubik's cube before. I have the intelligence of a lamp shade and much less of a attention span.
  6. This weekend I got a few lifers in AZ while visiting my best friend. Rosy-faced Lovebird, Bell's Sparrow, Ruddy-ground Dove, Rufous-backed Robin and Ferruginous Pygmy Owl! I got some shots I'll post later.
  7. Dude your shot is amazing! Congrats!
  8. Bro same. I always say "pics tba" on all my checklist and then never do. Sometimes I'll get a reviewer months later ask for the pics to be uploaded.
  9. Instagram, facebook(Err I mean Meta 😄) and ebird. I post rare birds or digi bin pics on Snap story. I used to use Flickr as well.
  10. Kinda gives me vibes of an immature male/female Lark Bunting with the huge white wing stripe, thick bill and head pattern plus the sage habitat but it's not a perfect fit still. I know you can't remember the location but can we eliminate a few options - can you confirm this was taken in the US?(have you birded outside of the states before?).
  11. I'm really liking this new feature! Here's my main trips from this year! @Trevor L.and @Melierax were with me for part of the first and second one. https://ebird.org/tripreport/6000 https://ebird.org/tripreport/5882 https://ebird.org/tripreport/5889
  12. Awesome! I so badly want to bird the Sierra Nevada's! I visited once before I was a birder.
  13. Really cool! Good luck, keep an eye out for one with a tiny bill 😉
  14. Oh, I meant unexpected lifers are fun, but yes Saw-whets are also always fun!
  15. Sounds great for NSWO! Congrats on the lifer! It's fun when you aren't expecting one!
  16. It's domestic Mallard. The odd look is a popular color called "Pastel" its used by breeders in call ducks, mallards and runners.
  17. Yeah, picking out a single gull can be hard. a few years ago at Lake Manawa someone spotted a SBGU in a flock of 25,000 RBGU. I was there at the same time and never saw it. Just too many birds to sort through.
  18. Congrats man! So many individual ducks on your list. 😄 that's a bummer, sorry you dipped. 😞
  19. Your welcome!!! I'm by no means an expert, I visited Belize in 2018 so I studied up on the Yucatan peninsula birds a bit. 🙂
  20. I think band-backed, shows it's name sake bands on its back and tail, plus the throat and belly spots. spot-breasted(and almost all wrens in the Yucatan) have solid and very contrasting brown backs compared to their chest unlike banded-backed.
  21. Looks good to me! Black defined spots, white brow, banded undertail and a rufous rump!
