  1. Thank you hbvo150...I'm wondering if you had time, if you could point out how you determined it was a Coopers. Sibley's notes that a Coopers has a pale nape but hard to see in this photo. Hawks are tough for me, so any information I can learn from experts is appreciated.
  2. This hawk was seen this week in SW Montana. Not a great photo but I'm thinking either a Coopers or Sharpshinned, but not completely sure. I would appreciate any help as to what hawk this might be. Thank you!
  3. Thank you all. I may try again this week...hopefully the Iceland sticks around.
  4. Today in SW Montana. I had heard there was a Iceland Gull (Thayer's) at a landfill close to where I live so I took a chance to see if I could find it. There were also Ring-billed, California and Herring Gulls present. This one stood out to me, so I'm wondering if it might be the Iceland. Gulls can be very difficult for me, so any help with an ID would be very grateful. Thank You!
  5. This bird was seen a couple days ago in SW Montana. I believe it could either be a Least or Western Sandpiper, but could be wrong on both. Any help on a positive ID would be appreciated. Thank you!
  6. This bird was seen yesterday in SW Montana. I've checked all my resources and haven't been able to come up with a positive ID. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!!
  7. Seen yesterday in south central Montana. There were two running along a drainage ditch outside of town. They were clipping along pretty good so I was fortunate to get a photo. I don't see many upland game birds and I think they are possibly Gray Partridge, but a positive ID would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  8. Thank you! Yellowlegs was my first thought, but as I took a closer look at the photos I talked myself out of it!
  9. This bird was seen yesterday in NW Montana. I believe it may be a Solitary Sandpiper but not 100% sure. Any help with a positive ID would greatly appreciated.
  10. These birds were seen yesterday in south central Montana. I believe one might be a Willow Flycatcher and the other a Western Wood-pewee. I did not hear the song/call of either. Any help with an ID would be greatly appreciated.
  11. This bird was seen yesterday at a State Park in north central Montana. I believe it is a flycatcher, unfortunately they are extremely hard for me to make a positive ID. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  12. Seen today in southwest Montana. Thought it may be a flycatcher possibly?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  13. This bird was seen today in my backyard in SC Montana. Sorry for the poor quality of the photo, but it flew right away and I was lucky to get this one. I was hoping it would come back but no luck! Any help with an ID would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
  14. This bird was seen yesterday in Central Montana. It was hanging out on the shore of the Missouri River with some gulls. At first I thought it might be a thrush but after looking at the photos I'm not certain it is. Any help with and ID would be greatly appreciated! Thank You.
  15. I saw this bird today along a river bank in central Montana. I think it may be a Vireo, but not quite sure. Any help with a positive ID would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!!
  16. Seen today in SC Montana. I think it could be an Olive-sided Flycatcher, but not at all sure. Any help with a positive ID would be greatly appreciated!
  17. This time of year is especially hard for me to ID birds with juvenile's coming on the scene. I did not hear or see any adult Clark's Nutcrackers at this location I was birding today....but that doesn't mean they weren't somewhere around. Thank you all for your help!
