Taylorjane replied to Taylorjane's topic in Help Me Identify a North American Bird
Southwest Montana. I'm not sure about the Gray....that would be rare here. A thought I had was possibly an Olive-sided Flycatcher? -

These three birds were seen today at a nature park in SW Montana. I believe two may be flycatchers and the other a warbler? Any help with IDs would be greatly appreciated. Thank You! -

Thank you both so much! I think I've only seen a House Wren once, but have never heard sing. Great musical song! -
A Herring Gull would not be rare, but not as common as the Ring-billed. The Great Black-backed would be very rare,

This gull was seen today at a reservior in SW Montana. Typically we see Ring-billed gulls at this reservior, but this gull didn't look or act like the rest. It seems to have caught a fish and all the other gulls were leaving it alone to eat....which is not what I've witnessed with other gulls with a catch. Any help with an ID on this gull would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you both! We're very excited to see them back!

This owl was seen this morning at Georgetown lake in SW Montana. I believe it is a Great Grey., but would appreciate a confirmation. Great Greys were seen here, but not in the past 5-6 years. I'm hoping they're back. Sorry for the bad photo, its was away and all I had was my phone.

My sister took this picture last weekend in SW Montana. She thinks they are Cowbirds, but I'm inclined to say Rusty Blackbirds (yellowish eyes), but not positive. Any help with an ID would be appreciated. Thank You!

Help bird ID in MT
Taylorjane replied to Taylorjane's topic in Help Me Identify a North American Bird
Thank You cvanbosk and millipede, very helpful comments! I'm pretty certain now the second bird is a Least Flycatcher, the first one I'm still not so sure. I wish I had better pictures of it's wings, tail etc. but unfortunately I don't. I've attached the only other pictures I was able to get, and they're not really any better, but hopefully they help. Thanks again for your help. -
These two birds were seen today along a nature park in south-central Montana. After looking through my books I thought maybe one could be a Thrush and the other a Vireo? Not positive though. Any help with identifying these two birds would be greatly appreciated. Thank YOU!!

This bird was seen at Camas NWR in central Idaho two days ago. There were two birds in a muddy, marshy area. I'm not sure if they are the same bird or different. I appologize for the poor photo, my camera isn't the greatest and they were pretty far away. Any help with an ID would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

Ahhh...thank you Birdbrain22, I really don't think I would have gotten that one. It doesn't look at all like the ones I usually see.
