  1. My bird was identified on another forum in October 2009 as ''an adult female American Robin, this year's hatch, having gone through at least one molt.'' But I have always wondered if that was correct. Thank you for sharing that photo. One word in the description caught my attention, immature, and that makes more sense to me than anything else that I've considered. And would possibly explain the black bill.
  2. lol! Thank you!! You do a great job of picking the bird of the week.
  3. Taken 24 SEP 2009 / Klickitat County, Washington, USA Can anyone explain this bird to me? Broken eye ring? Black bill? Thank you!
  4. I have three different variations, the traditional pinkish-red, orange, and yellow. This is my favorite one.
  5. You're closer than me...I have neither one. I live in the wrong neck of the woods.
  6. Beautiful bird! Unfortunately, I have nothing to offer this week. I've enjoyed looking at everyone else's photo...thanks for sharing! Maybe I'll get lucky and have next week's bird.
  7. Nope, nada, nix...none for me!! In fact, a Canada Jay is currently my number-one nemesis. In my neck of the woods, they are affectionally referred to as "Camp Robbers''. Great photos everyone!!
  8. Could someone please confirm that this is indeed a Trumpeter Swan, please? Thank you!!
  9. Ack! Trumpeter Swan...sorry for the error in spelling.
  10. Taken 28 OCT 2023, Yakima County, Toppenish, Washington This photo is a lifer for me. Thanks in advance for your help.
  11. Considering that I live about 35 miles from Bickleton, Washington which is known as ''the bluebird capital of the world'' this one lone Mountain Bluebird is the only one that I have ever seen.
  12. I live about 10 minutes from a major waterway, the gorgeous Columbia River. However, I've never seen any Terns that I can recall. There is a large colony of Caspian Terns (and Double-crested Cormorants) at the mouth of the Columbia but I haven't had the pleasure of a road trip to go see them.
  13. @IKLland @Johnd May I join the club, please? I have never seen one either. I apparently have led a sheltered life or have made a wrong turn somewhere because I didn't have a Tern for last week. 🙂
