  1. Welcome to Whatbird! Never be afraid to ask...that's how we all learn. ?
  2. Very nice photo...thank you. Agree with Northern Harrier. ?
  3. I have a Sibley's 1st Edition ©2000 so my book does not show the Pacific Wren so I assumed it was a Winter. I'm glad I found out different because this is a ''lifer'' for me...that's why I love this site everyone is so knowledgeable and helpful. I would expect that both Pacific and Winter have similar behaviors and that the habitat would be relative to their respective areas but since I have no experience with either I can not state anything with certainty. ?
  4. I'm not sure about the shape, that's why I asked. No, I didn't hear it...it was darting in and out of a cord of firewood that I was stacking in the woodshed, I had to work hard to get a few pictures of it. ?
  5. I've been fortunate enough to have seen both yellow and orange variants in my yard. ?
  6. My Sibley's does not show the Pacific Wren...I did not realize there was a split made in 2010. However, after looking at a range map I believe you are correct. Thank you. ? I think I have a Winter and a Pacific mixed up...the Winter has a more rounded shape, correct? Thanks! ?
  7. Thank you...I don't think it is round enough for a Pacific. I have it marked as a Winter but I wanted to make sure that I wasn't overlooking something that could make it a House. ?
  8. Taken 09 SEP 2018 / South Central Washington, USA/ Klickitat County Thank you for your help. ?
  9. Yellow-rumped Warbler. ? Audubon's... Myrtle's...

  11. Nice shots! I won't comment on which one it is...I always get them wrong so I'll leave it to folks more knowledgable than myself. ?
  12. I'm glad you figured it out...I have not yet but I'll keep trying to see what I'm missing! ?
  13. I'll take your word for it as I can not see a hockey stick...maybe I'm not looking at the right area. I'll have to study on it some...thanks for the info. ?
  14. Yea, me too...and my eyes are worse than I think they are...I fail to see anything that looks like a hockey stick. ?
  15. Thank you @meghann , @IvoryBillHope and @Charlie Spencer. ?
  16. Taken 07 NOV 2012 / Independence, MO / Jackson County Black-capped or Carolina? I have it marked as a Black-capped but I would appreciate a confirmation. Thank you. ?
  17. Do you have any more photos? According to my Sibley's, American Goldfinches winter across all of Texas. And, Texas is a migration route for Western Tanagers. ?
  18. Nevermind my previous post...after looking at a range map... Northern Shrikes are not in Mississippi. ?
