The bill doesn't look quite right for a Blue Grosbeak unless it is deformed. It looks more Crossbill-ish to me. ? -

You didn't mention what time of year this sighting occurred...Spring, Summer, June, August...it might be helpful to know that information too. ? What about a juvenile European Starling...they are a drab gray and in my experience with them, they will eat almost anything. -

Welcome to Whatbird! It is a Chukar as The Bird Nuts said. A wild bird in some areas and a farm-raised bird in others so it may be an escapee. Where are you located? I doubt that it is in need of care...it looks perfectly fine to me. If you think it needs food birdseed or cracked corn are good choices and a container with fresh water. ?- 3 replies
