05 Oct 2021 Baldwin co. AL; bayside public park, heavily wooded, cypress swamp, pine palmetto, oak/magnolia 1. Flying like a swallow. Northern Rough-winged vs. just a EUST 2. maybe same bird as #1 3. Thought this was a White-breasted Nuthatch but he looks odd 4. Blackburnian vs. other warbler sp. 5. Best guess is Eastern Wood Peewee, but that tail is short.

Dec 26 & 27, 2020 Baldwin co. AL; Gulf of Mexico Taken over 2 subsequent days in same general location, so may be the same individual. I originally listed as Common Loon, but now wondering if that throat delineation is too clean and it is a Pacific. 12/26 12/27

All taken in Feb. in Mobile or Baldwin co. AL in public parks with lakes or brackish marsh 1. ?Swamp Sparrow 2. ?Song Sparrow 3. ?Song Sparrow 4. ???. Why the short tail--molting? 5. ?All Chipping. 15 Feb 2021 Baldwin co. AL; Boardwalk along a weedy creekside corridor wedged between an interstate/4-lane highway exchange, hotels, and a saltwater bay. The creek is separated from the boardwalk by tall, vine-covered chain-link fence on either side. This bird was singing high from a tree top on the far side of the creek near a hotel parking lot. 10 Feb 2021 Baldwin co. AL; Mobile Bay American White Pelican vs. Great Egret These birds were far offshore on a spit of sandbar. They never did raise their heads. Before I could go back and get my spotting scope, it started pouring rain, so these are the best shots I have. I thought their overall shape, posture, & fact they were in a pretty tight social group was more on the side of American White Pelican, but idk. There is a Ring-billed Gull on the far left for reference.

3 May 2020 Baldwin co AL; suburban yard One bird calls at 1, 5, 9, 15... Second species (I think multiple individuals, though) quick, high whistles (?cardinals) I recognize the Laughing Gulls calling from overhead. 22 Sept 2020 Baldwin co AL Bird perched in one particular dead sapling (second photo) over several days. Would fly out to grab insect and return to same perch. I think all 3 are of the same bird?

18 Sept 2020 Baldwin co., AL Hi, All. We found this poor little thing in our gutter when we were cleaning up after Hurricane Sally. ? I could see no difference in color between the back and tail feathers.

22 Aug 2020 Baldwin co AL This nest was about 3 ft off the ground in the forked branches of a Wax Myrtle (Morella cerifera) at the edge of a longleaf pine savannah near a mixed hardwood forest. The nest was comprised of spider webs, oak leaves, twigs, and grass blades.

15 Aug 2020 Baldwin co AL pine flatwoods in process of restoration/recovery from invasive grasses & broadleafs. Awful pics, I know, but hoping someone can confirm. The bird was tiny & solitary. The spots on the wing coverts were more like smudgey lines and it did have a scaly look to the breast. We also had been hearing its call.

Good morning, All. We had a hummingbird come into the yard this morning that did not act like our usual RTs. It seemed large, had a louder/buzzier sounding flight, and did not twitter at all, even when close to us. It seemed confused by the feeder--like he/she did not know what to do. It did nectar at several flowers. We thought it might just be a young RT, but it seemed larger. We occasionally have other species of hummers here. We could not see features/colors well enough to describe. 27 June 2020 Baldwin co. AL (coastal)

18 June 2020. Baldwin co AL. There are several birds singing in this clip. I heard a Norther Mockingbird and an Eastern Bluebird, but I am interested in what the bird is that calls approximately every 10 seconds (aprroximately at seconds 7, 17, 26, 39). 20200618_100010 - Copy.wav
