  1. This brown bird seems to have a cone-shaped bill and the trailing edge of some of the wing feathers show white. I saw some Born-headed Cowbirds in the area, but they don't seem to have this pattern on the feathers. The photograph was taken in Red Rock Canyon of Waterton National Park in SE Alberta, Canada
  2. Please help me identify this bird. Photo was taken last October at Ed Levin County Park in Milpitas, California Thank you, J.R. Link
  3. Southeastern Washington State (zip 99352), size of a Robin or Starling. NOT coloring of starling I have ever seen! Brown, not black. Color pattern on back wings same as a sparrow. Certainly not a sparrow, tho, either! All by "himself" at the feeder. Ate sunflower seeds in gulps!
  4. Can anyone ID this bird please. Seen by a stream in the Bunya Mountain area . I believe it is a young bird.
  5. Good Morning, I am hoping to get any information about this large bird that was perched on my mailbox yesterday and made me wait to get my mail. My cat has been missing over a month and I'm trying to i.d. all possible outcomes :( Plus the bird is pretty fascinating. It was around 3pm Nov 20th and the house is about a block from the Atlantic Ocean. If I can attach the pictures you can see the white and brown mottled chest, yellow legs and talons, dark brown feathers with white lined tips etc. I didn't see the fly pattern. There were also 9 ibis in the yard at the time and I've never seen that many either! Any information would be greatly appreciated! I read about the red tailed hawk and another named with an "S" but there weren't enough pictures for me to understand the lingo etc. Happy Holidays!! Cheers, Becky Elizabeth
