02 Aug 2022 Baldwin co. AL; thick, low woods, rank with invasive grasses & trees I never saw the bird. Merlin and Birdnet say Kentucky Warbler, but we are not eat-up with those this time of year. 30 Oct 2021 Baldwin co. AL; seaside; coastal scrub habitat/dunes. Due to sun, I could not get an appreciation (nor a photo) of face pattern, but there does not appear to be an eyebrow or line present.

14 May 2021 Baldwin co. AL; brackish marsh/ wooded swamp. I just want to be sure I'm not mis-IDing. I usually hear the Red-eyeds call before I see them, but these 2 were completely silent the entire time I was there. Also, Red-eyeds not commonly seen at this particular hotspot.

07 May 2021 Baldwin co. AL; coastal historical park with varying habitat--pine palmetto, flooded grassland, marsh, crumbling buildings, beach 1. Common Nighthawk--Previously, I've only gotten these guys when they are zipping highly aloft. 2. Female Summer Tanager--I wasn't sure about all the rustiness in the tail 3. All Greater Yellowlegs 4. Red-winged Blackbird with leucism of tail 5. I thought this was a Brown-headed Cowbird in the field, but now I'm wondering if this is some sort of raptor. Those feet are huge. He is banded. 6. This fellow was an incidental, so not the best capture. He looks to have long, greyish legs. I can't tell size or whether he has a sandpiper or plover beak, or the pattern on his back. Willet vs. Black-bellied Plover vs. something else entirely. 7. Is this a Western Sandpiper with the Semipalmated Plover?

10 Mar 2021 Baldwin co. AL; Mobile Bay and saltwater/brackish marsh The 3 ducks were together in a group 1 & 2. Lesser Scaup-- 2. 3. ?Female Redhead 4. ?Northern Harrier--the head shape looked more like an Osprey, but the color distribution on head & body looked (to me) more like Harrier. 5. ??--in tree with female Red-wing Blackbirds, but not associating with them. They were all looking at this bird. It never turned its head.

09 Dec 2020 Baldwin co. AL; bayside ?Franklin's Gull 2nd from L. The eye arcs seem thick for Laughing Gull 2. ?Gull-Billed Terns vs. Sandwich Tern vs. Are they even terns??? They look fat for terns, short for gulls. Tails not right for gulls. Wings really pointy like terns. I'm lost on this one. 3. ?Laughing Gull (the relatively tiny one in the water toward the lower L corner)--but he seems so small

Good morning, All. We had a hummingbird come into the yard this morning that did not act like our usual RTs. It seemed large, had a louder/buzzier sounding flight, and did not twitter at all, even when close to us. It seemed confused by the feeder--like he/she did not know what to do. It did nectar at several flowers. We thought it might just be a young RT, but it seemed larger. We occasionally have other species of hummers here. Good afternoon, All. I am hoping someone can ID the two different bird species in this less-than-optimal recording. April 11, 2020. Baldwin co. AL Coastal 1. Fish vs American Crow calling througout. I was favoring Fish b/c it was a more nasal than coarse caw. I did not ask him if he was an American Crow, however, so did not hear the definitive negative reply. ? 2. ????? --3 rapid clear whistles at around 7, 10, 14, 16, 23, 31... Is this an Eastern Towhee? Sounded to me like "Drink Your Tea!" We never saw the bird. It was at greater than person height among some trees lining the drive into our suburban neighborhood. April 6, 2020 Alabama Baldwin co. Thanks 20200406_184316EasternTowheeed-0 - Copy.wav

Hi, All. I could not find a proper forum for my question, so I hope posting here is acceptable. I am a little confused by the ranges/distributions of many of the peeps. Most of these birds are stated/mapped in the various field guides to winter along the Gulf Coast, fly north to breed & are absent here in the Summer, but I felt we have small sandpipers at our beaches throughout the Summer? Have I just not noticed their absence?

Hi, All-- This is not my pic. It was posted on our local "All About..." FB page. According to post: The bird was found on the ground--'5” long with a beak that is about 1'. He was sitting with his beak touching the ground with his eyes open.' It was taken to a local wildlife rescue organization. Coastal Alabama. Last night (Sept. 27 2019).
