Distant photograph, in the rain, of a bird in an agricultural field. There were about ten Savannah sparrows in the field with it, but this one looked different, so I snapped a few pics. Raleigh, NC. Nov. 11, 2020. Grasshopper sparrow? The dark line at the base of the neck is something I'm not seeing in any photos of sparrows online or in guide books. Thanks! Scott

Hello all, I live in Toronto and just had a visitor to my yard that I have never seen before. It's small bird (a bit smaller than a sparrow) and appears to be olive/green on top with yellow tones on the breast/belly, has a white (maybe tan) eye ring and long, narrow bill. At first I thought it was a female/juvenile Goldfinch but when I zoomed in with my camera I didn't see the familiar wing markings of a Goldfinch and the bill looked different. Also the body shape of this bird looks different from a Goldfinch. This bird is roundish. I'm thinking a female Connecticut Warbler. My area is along their migration path. I have attached a picture. My apologies for the quality. This bird kept to the shadows and at the far reaches of my zoom lens. Thanks. Karen

IMG_7382.CR2 I was looking for a LeCount`s Sparrow, that was seen on Saturday morning 11/17, at the Solis Hotel, near the airport, in Atlanta. I didn`t find that particular bird, but saw this one on Sunday 11/18, taking a dirt bath, or anting, about noon and haven`t been able to figure out what it is. There were lots of other sparrows and warblers, coming out of the brush, from an adjoining field, in back of the hotel, landing in these small trees and working the wet grass.
