Bird was photographed at Hawk Cliff Woods, May 15. Colour - dark brown/white feathers, peach coloured face with brown bars and small white patch above eye. Finch like beak.

At least 3 of these small finch like birds (about four inches) were observed about 30 ft from where the attached picture of Los Angeles was taken, i.e. on high hillside in a residential area of West Hollywood, California in Oct 2018. Two of them lingered while a camera was found and their pictures were taken. They seemed so unafraid that we thought they might have escaped from captivity.
