  1. I was walking around a park yesterday and heard a very noisy flock of birds so far off I couldn't see them well with my binoculars. Right next to a large lake and a heavily vegetated marsh area, and a large mowed field on the other side. When I got a little closer (but still pretty far off), the sound immediately cut off. Instantly they were all silent! I've never seen or heard anything like it before! I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on what kind of birds these could have been. I've been around huge flocks of starlings before, but never have they gone silent like that. Was it a flock of migrating birds making a pit stop on their way south? Thanks
  2. Saw this flock very high in the sky late this morning near Dunnellon, FL. Both photos are enlarged. First photo is with contrast and shows the whole flock. Second photo is enlarged even further but has no contrast. It appears to me they have white heads with feet trailing. Anyone have a guess? Thanks in advance!
