  1. Taken on 7-25-2021 on the Los Angeles River at Glendale Narrows Riverwalk. There were well over 100 Mallards, mostly juveniles, and then there was this one duck with a white face. Is this just a domestic Mallard, or what?
  2. Taken on 7-25-2021 at Glendale Narrows Riverwalk on the Los Angeles River. What is the small bird at the right? There were about 100 Black-necked Stilts, 5 Greater Yellowlegs and this one small wading bird.
  3. Taken on 7-6-2021 in a residential area in Glenoaks Canyon, Glendale, CA. Is this a California Towhee? It looks different than the ones I'm used to seeing.
  4. Taken on 7-5-2021 in a residential area in Glenoaks Canyon, Glendale, CA. I have these bad photos of an Accipiter chasing a bird around some trees. I seem to see characteristics of both Cooper's and Sharp-shinned. My feeling is Cooper's.
  5. Taken on 7-1-2021 in a residential area in Glenoaks Canyon, Glendale, CA. Is this a Peregrine Falcon?
  6. Taken on 6-30-2021 in a residential area in Glenoaks Canyon, Glendale, CA. When I was taking this photo I thought it was going to be a House Finch. But after seeing the photos, I can't figure out what it is.
  7. Taken 6-24-2021 in a residential area in Glendale, CA. Is there enough to go on here?
  8. Taken on 6-17-2021 in a residential area in Glenoaks Canyon, Glendale, CA. The two birds flying could possibly be the same bird, although it doesn't even look like the same species to me. But the photos were taken in the same sequence a few frames apart.
  9. Taken 5-7-2021 in the afternoon at Lower Scholl Canyon Park in Glendale, CA. The first two photos are the same bird. The third photo was taken 26 minutes later about 20 yards away, so probably a different bird. I think these are both Wrentit's, but wonder if either are female Bushtit's.
  10. Taken on 5-7-2021 in the afternoon at Lower Scholl Canyon Park in Glendale, CA. Can anyone tell what this bird is?
  11. Taken 5-14-2021 in the late afternoon in a residential backyard, Glendale, CA. I'm not sure but think this could be a Bunting?
  12. Taken on 5-14-2021 at sundown in a residential backyard, Glendale, CA. Is this a Cooper's? In the first photo, the eye is visible above and slightly to the left of the fly on the leaf.
  13. Taken on 5-14-2021 just before sunset in a residential backyard, Glendale, CA. I can't tell if this is a Bullock's or Hooded Oriole. There was an adult male Hooded Oriole seen about 30 minutes before.
  14. Taken on 5-8-2021 in the afternoon on the Los Angeles River at Glendale Narrows Riverwalk in Glendale, CA. What is this duck with the white neck?
  15. Taken on 5-8-2021 adjacent to the Los Angeles River at Glendale Narrows Riverwalk in Glendale, CA. Is this a California Towhee? I'm not sure about that dark band on the tail. It is not a shadow -- I have several photos. Is that unusual or not? Thanks
  16. Taken on 4-26-2021 in the late afternoon in a residential back yard in Glendale, CA. There were several Lesser Goldfinches around my backyard and feeders, but I think this one might be an American Goldfinch.
  17. Taken on 4-26-2021 in the late afternoon in a residential backyard in Glendale, CA. This is the first Kingbird I've seen in my backyard. And just when I thought I was getting good at identifying kingbirds, I'm questioning myself about this one. All photos are the same bird.
  18. Taken on 4-26-2021 in the late afternoon in a residential backyard in Glendale, CA. I've never seen this bird before, and it took me a while to come up with Warbling Vireo. Did I get it right?
  19. Taken on 2021-04-25 on the Los Angeles River near Glendale Narrows Riverwalk, Glendale, CA. I'm not good at distinguishing Least from Western without a clear view of the legs. The one with a leg visible has algae on it.
  20. Taken on 4-25-2021 in the afternoon above the LA River near Glendale Narrows Riverwalk, Glendale, CA. I was able to identify some Northern Rough-winged Swallows and Barn Swallows flying in the same area, but not sure if this is a swallow or a swift. The two pics are not necessarily the same bird -- nor same species for that matter.
  21. Taken 4-10-2021 on the Los Angeles River at Glendale Narrows Riverwalk. If these are Western Sandpipers, then that's a new one for me.
  22. Taken on 3-12-2021 at Lower Scholl Canyon Park in Glendale, CA. I wanted to confirm whether this is a Red-breasted Sapsucker, since I've never seen one before.
  23. Taken 2-21-2021 late afternoon on a residential backyard slope in Glendale, CA. I occasionally get a Bewick's Wren at my suet feeder, or on my balcony deck below feeders. But yesterday I saw this wren on the ground and it looks a little different. Is this a House Wren? Thanks.
  24. Taken 2-15-2021 afternoon at Lower Scholl Canyon Park in Glendale, CA. Is the first one a Nuttall's woodpecker? And the second photo, I'm not even sure if it's a woodpecker. This is the only shot I have of it and I didn't see or hear it otherwise. There were several Acorn Woodpeckers about 50-75 yards away. But I'm not sure about that brown-rust coloring on the wings and tail -- or if the tail stops at the end of the brown-rust, or continues for a couple more inches with a mottled appearance.
  25. Taken 2-15-2021 in the afternoon at Lower Scholl Canyon Park in Glendale, CA. The first 2 photos are of the same bird. The 2 birds in the third photo were just about 15 feet away from the first bird
