I need your help telling apart these black birds... and to confirm a Boat-billed Flycatcher. They were seen in July in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Thanks a lot for your help! Bird 1 -- Melodious Blackbird?: Bird 2 -- Melodious Blackbird?: Bird 3: Bird 4: Bird 5 (Boat-billed Flycatcher): It doesn't show on the picture, but the bill is quite large and the calls were nothing like the ones of a Social Flycatcher or a Great Kiskadee -- I can try to post them if it helps with the ID.

hawks hawks near Sea of Cortez
CherylStewart posted a topic in Help Me Identify a North American Bird
I saw this hawk near Bahia de Kino, Sonora, Mexico, about 1/4 mile from the Sea of Cortez on this fresh water catchment, 11/14/19. The gull is a yellow-footed. I first saw it flying and said acipitor. Then I saw it here and said, well maybe Swainson. Then looked to its right about 30 feet and saw the hawk below and said I give up. I am assuming they are the same species??? Both are the same size. Thank you and sorry about the quality of the pics. -
Which IBird app is best for Mexico? I live in Puerto Vallarta area and several birds are not in the iBird Journal. Looking to purchase an ID app. Rufous bellied Chacala, Yellow winged Cacique are 2 so far. Currently using Merlin for Mexico. Used IBird South when that worked and I live in The States. Liked the app. Would like to use one here if it has my birds.
