  1. Hi, any thoughts on this flycatcher? Seen at Perea Nature Trail just north of Albuquerque, NM. Early May, 2015. Thanks.
  2. I took these photos of an unfamiliar flycatcher at Alto Lake which is at about 7,500ft elevation, in the southern half of NM, just north of Ruidoso. What's odd is in the first picture, if you zoom in, you will see a white eye ring, but in the second picture, it doesn't seem to have one. Anyway, any help is appreciated.
  3. This little one was bobbing up and down a lot, did not stand still at all. Kept running away from me. Merlin app suggested Willet, but said that would be rare. Note the eyeliner. I'm clueless.
  4. New Mexico bird.m4a was heard in Late March of last year in Taos New Mexico, I have no idea, sorry it is so quiet I recorded it on an iPhone
  5. This was in Bosque de Apache, New Mexico in July. Could this be ID'd as a Crissal?
  6. Help my sister and I ID this woody hammering away at the yucca stalk for seeds in her yard. This is the second woodpecker she’s seen in 2 Days (see notes below) Location: Valdez, NM (near Taos) in northern New Mexico. When: February 11, 2019 FYI: On 2-09-2019 she saw a woodpecker at same place but described it looking like a cross between a miniature Pileated and a larger Downy woodpecker (but smaller than a Hairy) as it had obvious red in its cap and lots of black laddering. We’re trying to figure out if this is the female version of the mystery woodpecker or if it’s an entirely different species of woody. I think the original woodpecker may be a Ladder-backed WP but not 100% sure. This one seems too big for Downy but not a Hairy either. https://vimeo.com/album/5756680 There should be 2 videos. The second one is probably better. Please let me know if the link fails to work. Thanks!
  7. Western Wood-Pewee is what the Merlin bird ID app says. Just want a second opinion. In New Mexico
