  1. All pics taken today in KY at a fish hatchery. Are these all the same species? I don't know much of anything about sandpipers, so I'm not even going to try to guess what they might be. Pics 1 and 2 are the same bird, but the rest were all different individuals. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.
  2. My brother took this in Santa Maria, Ca. The bill looks too thin and long for a Western but maybe part of its is buried in his chest.
  3. Today I saw this Sandpiper in Port Charlotte, Florida when looking for a white-rumped sandpiper. I am assuming it is a western sandpiper; however, I am just posting this here to be certain. Thanks (I am referring to the bird in focus in the picture, not the least sandpiper)
  4. Hi, I saw this / those birds in Toronto, ON, in July. So am I correct by saying that since they have yellow legs they are Least Sandpipers? thx
  5. Larger than a robin, smaller than a crow. Wading In the shallow ocean water. The belly looks like it’s a different color than the top. I haven’t seen these before. They must be less common in the city. August 27th. Around 1PM. Portland, Maine. 77D72E70-BB0A-401D-B2DC-025CBB21D254.MOV
  6. Hi, I saw those birds in Toronto, ON, last week. Are they sandpipers? Semipalmated ones?
  7. This sandpiper flew in at the Carr Drive Beach in Slidell, LA. We usually see Spotted Sandpipers at this location, but this bird has dark legs and does not bob its tail up and down. So I am not sure what it is. Any help is appreciated.
  8. Hi all, wondering if anyone has any ideas on the shorebird sp. in the following check list from today. Have never seen a Stilt before; but I don't want to force it with this pair. Thanks, Graham https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S47921605
