  1. Hi, I saw those birds not far from Cancun and Playa del Carmen while in a resort. Some nice species still! Any idea what they are (not sure the parrots are local...). thx
  2. I saw this hawk near Bahia de Kino, Sonora, Mexico, about 1/4 mile from the Sea of Cortez on this fresh water catchment, 11/14/19. The gull is a yellow-footed. I first saw it flying and said acipitor. Then I saw it here and said, well maybe Swainson. Then looked to its right about 30 feet and saw the hawk below and said I give up. I am assuming they are the same species??? Both are the same size. Thank you and sorry about the quality of the pics.
  3. Which IBird app is best for Mexico? I live in Puerto Vallarta area and several birds are not in the iBird Journal. Looking to purchase an ID app. Rufous bellied Chacala, Yellow winged Cacique are 2 so far. Currently using Merlin for Mexico. Used IBird South when that worked and I live in The States. Liked the app. Would like to use one here if it has my birds.
  4. Here are a couple more birds from the Yucatan. I think the first one is a Rose-throated Becard but I am not sure about the other ones. Pictures were taken a few days ago in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Thank you for your help!
  5. Hi! I would greatly appreciate your help with this little guy. It was seen a couple of days ago in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Thank you!
  6. Hi! I think this could be a Cave Swallow, but I would greatly appreciate your help to confirm it. Pictures were taken yesterday in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. Thanks!
  7. I need your help telling apart these black birds... and to confirm a Boat-billed Flycatcher. They were seen in July in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Thanks a lot for your help! Bird 1 -- Melodious Blackbird?: Bird 2 -- Melodious Blackbird?: Bird 3: Bird 4: Bird 5 (Boat-billed Flycatcher): It doesn't show on the picture, but the bill is quite large and the calls were nothing like the ones of a Social Flycatcher or a Great Kiskadee -- I can try to post them if it helps with the ID.
  8. So here are a few more birds seen on the island of Holbox in Mexico. The pictures were taken at the beginning of July. Thank you all in advance! These are my guesses: 1. Reddish Egret: 2. Great Egret or Great Blue Heron: 3. Mangrove Swallow:
  9. I need your help with these birds. I think the first one is a Vaux Swift and the second one could be a Prothonary Warbler, but I would like to know what you think. The pictures were taken a few days ago in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Thanks a lot for your help
  10. Hi! I need your help with these birds that were seen earlier this month in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. I believe the first one could be a Sulphur-bellied flycatcher, but the second and third ones I am not sure. Your help is greatly appreciated! Bird 1: Bird 2: Bird 3:
  11. Hi! I would very much appreciate your help with these birds. The kingfisher was spotted a few days ago in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico and the ground-dove and the swallow were seen earlier this month in Holbox, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Thanks a lot for your time! 1. Green Kingfisher? 2. Common ground-dove? Not a great picture... Sorry about that! 3. Mangrove Swallow?
  12. Hi! I think this is a Bronzed Cowbird... What do you think? Picture was taken today in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. Thanks!!
  13. Hi! I need your help with these two birds. I think the first one is a Blue-black Grassquit and the second one is a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, although the beak seems a little bit large to me... Thank you in advance for your help!
