This is either a five-lined skink (most likely) or southeastern five-lined skink.   Apparently the scales have to be examined to differentiate.

Looks like Common Five-lined to me. Southeastern’s middle stripe would be noticeably thinner than the rest.

Golden-mantled Ground Squirrel, Deception Peak. I'm not an expert on animal behavior, but I suspect that some hikers who take a break up here are feeding this animal.

Golden-mantled Ground Squirrels, once they become used to people, can become very tame and friendly even without people feeding them. But, people are people, so this little guy probably has had plenty of handouts.

P.S. I want to see one when I go to CO. Shouldn’t be too hard.

Thanks, I didn't know that.  But the way she [*] was sniffing around me and looking that anything that moved while I was eating lunch, I got the impression she was more hungry than friendly.

By the way, I meant to say "Deception Peak, near Santa Fe, N.M."

[*] I could see where her nipples were, so I think she was a she.

Bouvier des Flandres puppies.  Our AKC Bouvier des Flandres bitch  registered as "Whatever Lola Wants" achieved her championship status last December and was subsequently acknowledged with the "Award of Special Merit" at the AKC National Championship Meet in Florida.   All three pups from Lola's first litter are committed to new owners.

Here are some unidentified chipmunks I had in different places (but on a similar rock) in the Tahoe area that I've been too lazy to try to identify. Any ideas @Seanbirds? Most Chipmunks in the area are Long-eared, though I've seen Allen's and Yellow-pine in the area.

2 looks good for a Lodgepole Chipmunk, but 1 is giving me a headache. Probably a Lodgepole as well, though.
