sbruenjes
I saw these birds yesterday at DeKorte park in Northern New Jersey. They were close to each other. I thought they were semipalmated sandpiper, but now I'm not sure.. Could they be a western? I think the legs are black but is it possible they are just covered in mud? If not, could they be a least? Maybe two different birds? Ugh... Any help would be appreciated.
Connor Cochrane
This looks good for a longer-billed Semipalmated. Note it very lacking in rufous overall, darker face, and bill size. Edited May 16, 2020 by Connor Cochrane
