Taylorjane
These three birds were seen today at a nature park in SW Montana. I believe two may be flycatchers and the other a warbler? Any help with IDs would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!
Connor Cochrane
1. Is hammonds/Dusky Flycatcher. I'm thinking Hammonds by primary projection 2. Some sort of warbler, I'm thinking Yellowthroat, kind of hard to tell from the photos. 3. House Wren
Connor Cochrane
Where in Montana is this?
Phalarope713
1. Looks better for a Gray with drab plumage, virtually no eyering, and long bill with orange lower mandible. 2. Common Yellowthroat 3. House Wren

That was my initial thought, but I've birded Montana a lot and I don't think there in the state. If this is a gray, that's a good bird
Connor Cochrane
After doing research, they are very rare in MT. They breed in the border town of Bannak, and are rare breeders in central MT Carbon county. Away from there they are extremely rare. It does look like a gray to me, now that I look at it closer. Taylorjane
Southwest Montana. I'm not sure about the Gray....that would be rare here. A thought I had was possibly an Olive-sided Flycatcher?

Connor Cochrane
Definitely not Olive-sided. Different shape entirely. Can we hear more opinions on this topic?
akandula
I agree with a Gray Flycatcher. Also note the pale forehead. Olive-sided Flycatchers have distinct dark vests. Very nice find... you should report this.
Connor Cochrane
Really good bird. Not many seen in SW Montana

blackburnian
It looks like Gray to me, but not 100% confident. I’ve seen them in SE Montana where they breed, but definitely a good bird for that part of the state is it is indeed Gray.
