Extenders effect image quality. Usually with an extender on it lessens the clarity by a little bit. However, the one I have seems to cause a larger drop than normal in sharpness.

Ah, I misunderstood. Yes, I know that. They really only work well with the big prime lenses( 500mm or 600mm f/4s), and they’re pretty bad with most zoom lenses. You’ve taken some nice images with yours on, though. Like your PEFA photo. But, I understand. That’s why when I get my sigma 150-600, I won’t be getting even a 1.4.
