Hi all,

Posting this for a friend. Taken in Colorado a week ago. Both of us thought Alder but the pp looks very short. Thanks!

This is a pretty typical Least Flycatcher. Notice the short bill and as you noted, short primary projection.

Wow...really?  Nothing except the short primaries say Least to me.  Maybe it's the back-of-camera shot...

What about it specifically says Traill's to you? It seems pretty petite, and I'd expect a heavier bill from Willow/Alder.

It just looks too elongated and small-headed and the facial pattern is indistinct.  But I guess a Traill's can't have that short of primary projection.
