According to this article by a VT eBird reviewer, this should be eBirded as a hybrid.

"Birders therefore, it seems to us, should continue to use the features and descriptions from the respected birding guides to place their observations in eBird checklists. The two species are clearly defined by a unique collection of plumage characteristics present or absent. These must be accounted for in observations. Any bird deviating from these is thus entered as a hybrid."

First time seeing a Sora for more than half a second! Usually I just hear them. I laid down on a path and he came right out of the reeds...side note...don't do this if geese regularly hang out on said path.😬

Though I've seen them twice distantly when I was in Mexico, I got my first good look at a Rnged Kingfisher in Texas when this bird flew by me. I found a few more photos hidden on my computer, but I can't wait to get the SD card back with the photos on it in three months.

Nice!

I love the Ringed Kingfishers, they are so cool! Last time we went kayaking on the Frio river it was in May, so there were young of both Green, and Ringed, I really enjoyed that.
