ID-able? Terns?

Some Caspian terns were in the area, I wonder if I got their rears.  Today in Las Vegas.  Thanks!

I don't actually think these are terns, notice the pot-bellied appearance and the needle-like bill. I like American Avocet here.

Decidedly shorebirds, which have vastly different flight style than terns, which don't have bills anywhere near this long/skinny. I don't see avocets in those. The bills look straight -- see bottom-left bird in 1st pic, two left birds in 2nd pic. Why not Long-billed Dows? They certainly have white in the rump area.
