Unknown Alberta Bird

Recommended Posts

I saw this bird in northeast Alberta, Canada in a forested area on June 26th. Unsure as to what it is.

Definitely a warbler. It’s either a Palm a Waterthrush or a Tennessee. I’m going to say it has to be a really dull Tennessee, due to the plain breast and no real bright under tail coverts, but I could be wrong.

That's a crazy looking bird. Superficially a little reminiscent of a Wormie or Swainson's. Definitely a Tennessee though.

It lacks tail spots and the tail is short and notched, ruling out Palm. It lacks underparts streaking and the tail is narrow and notched, ruling out both waterthrushes.
