Why can't they be both? Or neither? The options for each sex are juvenile, immature, adult. The time of year suggests against "immatures" (see here). I'd go with juvenile for, at least, the right bird. I'm uncertain on the left bird, as I've not looked into ageing and sexing of Dickcissels.
