You had never seen a Sand dollar before?:classic_ohmy:

In gift shops but that doesn't really count. I spent most of my life in land locked Colorado (no sand dollars). So yep first one since we moved to Florida getting close to 3 years ago. I have seen a ton of other shells. I have only found one sharks tooth too. I would love to find more of both.

You should put these in the Landscape catergory.

I could have, but since I saw them while birding, put them here.  The canyon and the condor are at the same place: Marble Canyon, AZ.

That's where I saw my Lifer California Condors, also!

One of only a few times I have seen a live Armadillo. Sadly, very sadly I have seen more dead ones on the sides of roads than live ones here in Florida.

They & coyotes are invasive species this side of the Mississippi.  They are cute, but...

??Where’d you hear that??

@Seanbirds--I know it probably seems to you as a young person that the two species are native to areas east of the Mississippi, as they have been here for several decades, but neither is native to the southeastern US., or US east of the Mississippi, for that matter.  The coyote is somewhat filling a niche, as the southeast, and much of the east have lost or decimated the populations of many of our large carnivores (Red Wolf, black bears, cougars, etc.)  These are not scientific articles, but infomative, none-the-less.

Me too.  We lived in Florida for ~3 years and my wife has never seen a living one.  I've only seen a handful of living ones

Yeah the ones in NJ are usually somewhat colorful but this one was exceptional. Looks like it just came out of the car wash & I'm sure it will be quite popular with the opposite sex ?.
