Southern Fox Squirrel-North America's largest Squirrel

Second photo includes a gray one that I have yet to get a good of though we have seen it a few times.

Yet another subspecies of the Eastern Fox Squirrel. Where was this? I’m thinking it’s either S. n. niger, avicennia, or shermani.

here it's mostly Eastern Gray.

It seems Fox Squirrels have a narrow strip of range where they are and Eastern Grays are not. That’s about one of the only places where they’re abundant. I live in the aforementioned strip of range and see Fox Squirrels often, but never Grays (unless I travel of course).

That's cool. Mammals are interesting, but I don't really know much beyond the common ones in my part of the state.

In Baker County, Florida. But, I have also seen them in Alachua County, FL.

I get up early at our summer home in the Oregon Cascades, or the Stellar's Jays will sit on my railing looking in the windows reminding me it's time for the feeder to get attended1896931477_SunriseatElkLakeSeptember2021.thumb.jpg.36f27c6f5edac062b9f8d099685b5a00.jpg.  In the fall we get some nice sunrises primarily because the days grow shorter and it's still dark when we get up to see them happen.
