@Seanbirds Here is basically the same pose but closer in. Just tad of the underside shows near the head probably not enough to help. The other person on iNat has it as Southeastern. You say obviously Five-lined but for me who is not well versed in herps can you tell me what makes it obvious to you?

Yeah, this view doesn't really make any difference.

The reason I say the difference between Broad-headed and Five-lined is obvious is because of how easy-to-see and well defined the labial scales (upper lip) are in this photo. Broad-headeds have five, while this one clearly has four. So it's a five-lined.

The weather has been really good for chanterelles lately! My father and I went a picked some after dinner tonight! We are going to saute them and put them on some homemade pizza tomorrow, an make something with the extras!

Pretty happy considering how dark it was out!

It has been along time since I uploaded something directly here, forgot how much it degrades the quality.

.....and now for something completely different!!!

On a recent outing I noticed a dense black plume of smoke at a marina not far from the trail, by the time I got there (a few minutes) it was all over.

Too distant to get a good photo of this but this Cattle Egret seemed fascinated watching the calf eat. It stood there watching for several minutes.
