Is this a young Osprey? He didn't have the chest markings I'm use to  seeing.

Yes, this is an Osprey! I am not certain about age, but the pale tips on this individual’s feathers lead me to think that this is a juvenile. Wait for further input about age

The best way I can think of to tell a young osprey from an adult is eye color. It is hard to tell in this photo, but younger osprey have brown eyes, while adults have yellow.

Avery,  It's hard to tell because the sun was to the back so it was pretty shaded
