Benjamin Posted July 31, 2020 Share Posted July 31, 2020 Absolutely Black-tailed Gnatcatcher- in this case, the black cap identifies it as such, as the only other possibility is Blue-gray. Environment and location are very important- Black-capped is a rare and local species found in southeast AZ, but would definitely not be found in Saguaro National Park nor in sonoran desert habitat. Black-tailed, on the other hand, is very common throughout the Sonoran desert and loves this type of habitat. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
