Hoping a Townsend's Warbler?

Recommended Posts

I have the book "The Warbler Guide" in front of me. From the photos I'm seeing, it certainly seems like this could be the underside of a Townshend's, especially from the belly up to the tail. Since there is little black on the throat it would have to be a female or first-year.

Off-topic: What is holding the first bird in the air?  It doesn't appear to be gripping anything with its feet, and I don't know of any warbler species with a prehensile tail.

I think it is just dropping from one place to another.
