tdteal
We found this bird on Saturday in Owyhee County Idaho, The picture doesn't do it justice it was really dark brown with black wing tips. I was thinking Jaeger but I am hoping for some help. Thank You
akandula
I'd be surprised if that's identifiable.
Benjamin
Presumably it's probably not a Ring-billed Gull as they generally are not this dark. California Gull seems likely, but of course that's simply based on location and the fact that it's very dark.
tdteal
Here is a zoomed in picture but the lighting wasn't great for the darkness of the bird. Thank You for your help.
Tony Leukering
Almost certainly a juvenile Cal Gull. I believe that Herring is ruled out by the apparent pale base to the bill.
