BlueJay 153
Photos taken in late June 2020 at Wrightsville Beach NC. Photo 1 I think is a Willet but I'm not sure, photo 2 I need confirmation on Least Tern, and photo 3 I couldn't decide between Common and Foresters Tern. Any help with ID-ing/Confirming these birds would be very appreciated. Edited August 13, 2020 by BlueJay

Tony Leukering 2,329
To be nitpicky, there is only one "shorebird" under ID consideration here (though there might be shorebirds in the distance in the 2nd pic). "Shorebird" is a taxonomic, not a behavioral, grouping. In North America, "shorebird" encompasses seven families from the large and varied bird order Charadriiformes (which, in addition to shorebirds, includes gulls, terns, skimmers, jaegers, and alcids). The seven families of North American shorebirds are: 1 -- thick-knees (Burhinidae) 2 -- stilts and avocets (Recurvirostridae), 3 -- oystercatchers (Haemotopodidae) 4 -- plovers (Charadriidae) 5 -- jacanas (Jacanidae) 6 -- sandpipers (Scolopacidae) 7 -- pratincoles (Glareolidae) Should anyone want to peruse an up-to-date taxonomy according to the acknowledged New World authority, see http://checklist.americanornithology.org/taxa
