cccougar
I had this Vulture pegged as a Black one. But after posting on a Facebook bird site I’ve had a few comments saying it’s a Turkey Vulture. I don’t see a red face but someone says it’s possibly a juvenile Turkey and that the wing pattern and color fits the Turkey. I’m ready to eat crow if I’m wrong. Photographed in coastal South Carolina.
BlueJay
This is a Turkey Vulture. The 2 colored wings give it away. A black vulture just has lighter feathers on the wing tips. 2
Connor Cochrane
Definitely a Turkey Vulture. They have the dark v on the light silvery wings. Blacks have all dark wings with silvery near the ‘fingers’
cccougar
OK I’m eating crow! Where’s the reddish head? Is it the lighting?
BlueJay
According to Sibley, juvenile Turkey Vultures have grayish heads. Edited August 13, 2020 by BlueJay

I recommend a chipotle hot sauce, either Tabasco or Cholula. 1
