zbird
Seen in central KY last week. I'm not sure about PROW - it seems a little dull - but that's my guess.
The Bird Nuts
It's a Yellow Warbler. Prothonotary Warblers have bluish wings and tails and white undertail coverts and undertails.
zbird
Ah, I thought it didn't look blue enough. Thanks!
Tony Leukering
The complete yellow eye rings also rule Protho AND ID it as a Yellow Warbler.
bo nelson
I saw one in Tucson yesterday but the first time I saw it I discounted it as a Prothonotary because I didn't think it was blue enough. Of course I should have taken that photo when I had the chance and ended up having to settle for a photo through a forest of sticks.

And if it is, don't just 'discount' it, that's a rare bird!

Still not sure what 'discounted it as a Prothonotary' means though as that is a much rarer bird than Yellow.
