zbird
Is this a cedar waxwing? I didn't think it looked like one originally, but I didn't get a great look. ID might not be possible from this pic but any help is appreciated ? Central KY on Thursday. I think it had a longer beak and some black around the head and face - my first thought was a nuthatch or a Blackburnian warbler, but this pic doesn't look great for either. Help! The Bird Nuts
I'm not sure what it is, but I can tell you it's not a Cedar Waxwing. Cedar Waxwings have shorter, darker tails with a yellow or orange tip and they also lack the pale edging on the wing feathers.
Tony Leukering
It seems to have tail spots, so might be a warbler.
zbird
Could it have been a Blackburnian warbler? Possibly a female or juvenile - I thought I saw a dark gray mask and some light orange feathers on its chest.
Pigegon
Yeah... It does have a blackish head. I wish I could see the beak. That would make it easier to narrow it down.
