cccougar
I photographed these wading birds in South Carolina’s ACE Basin this week. The first pair I think are Tri-colored Herons and the trio on the right I believe are Snowy Egrets. I’d know for sure if I saw their yellow “slippers.” Seeking confirmations or corrections. Thank you.

Tony Leukering
There are two species in the first pic, one adult Tricolored and one one-year-old Little Blue (mix of white and blue plumage, bill more than half dark) 1
Kevin
1 The front bird is a Tricolored and the back one is a Little-blue. 2 Three Snowy Egrets.
Charlie Spencer
On the first two, notice the Tri had a yellow bill. The immature Little Blue had a bill that starts blue at the base and then darkens to black toward the end. Snowy bills are like their legs - black with yellow at one end! Too early in the morning for my fingers to work. I saw what I typed and recoiled in horror!
