Site Problems and Questions for the Moderators

A couple of work-arounds until the bugs are fixed:

-You can use the " icon at the top of the edit box to add a quote; copy and paste in the quoted material. Then you can use the @ key to tag the member so they'll get a notification.

-If you have a number indicating you have new notifications or private messages, the drop-down won't show anything; but click on "view all notifications" or "go to inbox" to see them.

-You can't paste in URLs directly, but you can click on the link icon (looks like two links of chain) to paste them in there.

Also if any of the tools in the text box are not working, try refreshing the page. That seems to be fixing the quote, and link icon, when they don't work at first.

I admit to being a little slow when it comes to using my phone on the internet, but I'll share something I just discovered, something that many people already know, but it might help someone as unaware as I was.

Flipping your phone horizontally displays things that are hidden when your phone is held vertically, such as the quotation icon needed to create a quote box. At least that's how my phone works. I seldom flip my phone, but when I did I found some extras. Try it, if you haven't already.

@lonestranger Yes, turning your phone to landscape position will often load the computer version of a website instead of the mobile version; it works on a lot of sites.

Quoting @aveschapinas, "Yes, turning your phone to landscape position will often load the computer version of a website instead of the mobile version; it works on a lot of sites."

It doesn't display the whole computer version of my text/edit box, but it does give me 9 of the 16 editing options that the computer version has, which is better than the 6 options I had with my phone held vertically.  It would have been nice if those 3 extra options included tools for changing my font colour or size, but at least I can find the quote feature that is being talked about now. 👍

Didn't know that, thanks!

It doesn't display the whole computer version of my text/edit box,

@lonestranger I checked on my phone (I almost never use it for WhatBird) and it doesn't give the full computer view for me either. It's different for each site; another one I use does show the full version, but sometimes you have to click an option at the bottom of the page.

Any one else been having problems with the private messenger? Can't seem to start new ones, tried to seed three out this morning, and after many tries, finally two went. Still haven't gotten the third on through.
